Optimizing For MSN
MSN has invested heavily in creating its own search engine technology. From what we have seen of it so far, it seems to be easier to get a good ranking on MSN, but because it is used substantially less than Google, a good ranking is no guarantee of high traffic volumes.
Firstly, pick your desired search words. Then go and see if a domain name is available in the form of www.the-search-words-picked.com.
If it is, register the domain and create a web page that includes the search words you picked in the meta tags and also re uses them in the <h1> tag as well as the other headers.
Sprinkle the search words you picked liberally around the page. Where you have used the search words on your page, turn these into hyperlinks back to the url www.the-search-words-picked.com.
Then set up some links to your website from other sites that are already on MSN just to get their bot to crawl through your page. Sit back, wait a week or so and see how you get on. This method has worked well in our experience, but as mentioned earlier, even a great ranking on MSN is no guarantee of high volume traffic.
